By Tuesday, May 26 you should receive your Summer Reading Binder which has all of the resources you will need to facilitate Summer Reading at your location.  Hopefully this post answers any questions you have.

Summer Reading is right around the corner – and we are spreading the word!  You might be participating in school promotions, Most Improved Reader presentations, community outreaches, etc – and in doing this you are helping everyone know what awesome things the library has in store for all ages!

The next quarterly Volunteer Luncheon has been moved to Friday, June 19, 12:00-1:00 in the Ryals Room of the Rawlings Library. Please get the word out to our volunteers about this about this wonderful event. Thank you very much!

As part of the current Strategic Planning process, the Library has done many things: held focus groups with members from the community, conducted a community-wide survey, and held staff and stakeholder retreats.

Dear colleagues, I'm excited to announce the Adult Summer Reading Registration Challenge! Last year, we had exactly 500 adult registrations. This year, we're shooting for a 20 percent increase, but would love to exceed that. Can we do this together?

There is a new procedure for bringing on volunteers that will be faster and more efficient.  Human Resources will now post all volunteer applications on the Portal for managers to access when they need a volunteer.  Volunteer applicants can be found under the HR tab / Volunteers.

This is a reminder to pull up the most current form on the portal (listed under Finance forms) to use for mileage reimbursement. The rate changes annually, and we've seen some older forms come through with an old rate.  The current IRS reimbursement rate is $0.575/mile, not $0.56/mile.

The Spring Weigh & Win Challenge which ran from February 1st through April 30th has come to an exciting end.  Four PCCLD teams competed in this state-wide competition with the goal of shedding unwanted pounds by developing healthy habits.
