ADA & the Library

Author: Sara.Rose / Date:
Employees are often faced with questions about ADA and the Library.  How does the library accommodate persons with disabilities to ensure equal access to information and resources?  When is an animal allowed in the library?  What assistive technology does the library have available?

The attached two information sheets were designed to help employees address these questions with customers.
One covers the differences between Service Animals and Companion or Emotional Support Animals.  The other focuses on how the library provides services and equal access to persons with disabilities.

These documents can be found on the Portal by searching under ADA.  There are a number of other resources available in the same location.
