It is official!  The name of the new library under construction on the City of Pueblo's east side is the Patrick A. Lucero Library. The PCCLD Board of Trustees took action last evening at their regular monthly meeting to name the new library for Mr. Lucero.

We have engaged the services of Katie Hunt, an employee of Account Temps, to be trained by Ruth in Paychex and Fixed Assets before Ruth's departure this Wednesday.  Katie is a very quick study, and ran today's payroll under Ruth's excellent tutelage.

I am sad to announce that Ruth Mondragon is leaving PCCLD, on to greater adventures in her new job.  Her last day will be next Wednesday, May 21.  Attached is an invitation to a coffee we're having that morning.

Representatives from Bibliotecha were out this week updating the self checks, replacing the rfid reader, and other fine tuning. I discovered that we are not shutting down the kiosk optimally for the software and hardware.

We are doing a great job!  Our Key Results are "out of this world" so far in 2014.  Here's the lowdown.  Circulation is 19% ahead of last year's pace with 641,451 circs to date in 2014 compared with 537,375 last year.  Library visits are up 27% with 489,825 through April 2014 versus 385,227 during same period in 2013.  Digital use has increased 30% this year compared with last, 266,630 in 2014 and 205,094 in 2013.  Finally, program attendance is up a whopping 39% with 36,124 recorded in 2014 compared with 25,985 in 2013.
