The Rawlings Library is hosting the 2019 Southern Colorado ADA Symposium on August 31 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This event will build awareness, celebrate diversity and inclusion, and promote respect for the various cultures within the disability community. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. with an opening session about the history of the ADA and a proclamation from the County Commissioners, followed by breakout sessions, simulation activities, a film series and a vendor fair. Additionally, we will be hosting a complimentary keynote luncheon at noon that features comedian and author, Nina G. Nina G is the San Francisco Bay Area's favorite female stuttering stand up comedian. She is also a disability activist, storyteller, author and educator. She brings her humor to help people confront and understand social justice issues such as disability, diversity, and equity.
Please consider joining us for this exciting event and work with your manager if you would like to attend! Reservations for the luncheon and breakout sessions can be made on the library's website. The event poster and a full listing of sessions is attached.
