Accelerated Reader Labels

Author: Kayci.Barnett / Date:
Many of the schools for D60 & D70 utilize the Accelerated Reader program which assigns levels to books, and has tests for the student to take after reading the book.  You might have had students and parents come into the library looking for "AR" books.  After careful consideration from the Public Service Managers group and with the cooperation of the Technical Services Department new Junior Fiction and Junior Non-Fiction, if applicable, will have an AR label on the spine which identifies the reading level of the book making it easier to browse for these types of books on the shelf.  The following is an image of what the spine label will look like.  Some branches will "retro" tag their older books at their managers discresion, and Youth Services is actively tagging the items in Bibliocommens.  I've attached instructions on how to identify AR level, how to label, and how to tag in Bibliocommens.  Please, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
