The Nesbitt Association's mission is to support and celebrate the PCCLD team through annual gatherings and celebrations, staff appreciation and events, and initiatives that support and foster a positive library culture.
Anyone can join and can choose which events to volunteer to help with throughout the year. The volunteer group also serves as key communicators for Nesbitt news.

- Birthday cards to staff
On March 12, 1984 a generous patron, J.T. (for James Thomas) Nesbitt, donated $1,000 to the staff of the Pueblo Library District. Mr. Nesbitt was a Pueblo native and retired post office supervisor, and frequent visitor to the library. He asked that the interest earned from the $1,000 be used for staff functions, including a Christmas party each year.
Following are excerpts from his letter in 1984:
"This donation is not to the Pueblo Library but it is to the employees of the library.
The employees are the most congenial, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant and just good people that you could possibly assemble in one organization.
I have used the Pueblo Library for the past 64 years. In that time I have enjoyed at least $30,000 worth of books.....
The interest each year....would pay for the turkeys, trimmings, cranberries, rolls and a couple of gallons of red and white wine...."
