As you may have realized, Sunday will be 15 years since the 9/11 events of 2001.  You may have noticed some library programs and exhibits remembering that day.

The Corporate Cup 5k, Executive Challenge, Climbing Competition, Football Throw, and Basketball Shoot is this Saturday!!!

Even for those of you who did not sign up for Corporate Cup sporting events you still have the opportunity to participate in the Togetherness Day activities which goes from now until September 18th.

After 30 years of service to PCCLD, Carol Rooney, Manager of Reference and Readers Advisory, is retiring February 4th, 2017.

I am pleased to announce that the CAL Awards Committee has awarded PCCLD the Early Literacy Award for 2015-2016 for our SPELL program! 

Almost 5,000 youth ages 5-12 participated in our Summer Reading Program this year. Kids read books, wrote book reviews, and created art to fill in their summer game boards. Grand prize winners received a pack of books, toys, and art supplies tailored to their age level.

This year over 1,000 kids ages 0-4 participated in our Summer Reading Program for pre-readers. Based on Every Child Ready to Read practices, this program encouraged the habits that foster early literacy - parents reading, talking, singing, writing and playing with their children.
