Construction progress on each of the three new libraries continues. The Lucero Library now is being framed (see attached photograph). The St. Charles Mesa Library is further along with framing completing now, the parking lot and access road finished, and building dry-in commencing. The Greenhorn Valley Library also is well along with dry-in underway now and the parking lot and access road ready to be built.
Furniture, fixtures, equipment and collections orders for the libraries are now being prepared. Amy Martin, Al Perea, Diann Logie, Teresa Valenti, and Charles Hutchins are leading this effort.
Fundraising also is moving along. We are ever so close to completing fundraising but Amber Pepin continues to work to top off this effort.
Finally, the staffing plan for the new libraries continues to evolve. Several staff will be transferring to the new libraries from current assignments, and recruitment will continue to move forward to fill vacant positions. Our goal is for some staff to start in their new assignments later this summer and early fall, as the new libraries should open to the public in October and November.
