Update to PCCLD COVID-19 Protocols

Author: jon.walker / Date:
PCCLD is modifying some institutional COVID-19 protocols in alignment with changes occurring in other organizations. Effective August 1, 2022, PCCLD employees are no longer required to record symptom status in the COVID-19 Health Check nor report COVID-19 exposures directly to Human Resources. PCCLD continues to encourage you to self-test for COVID-19 whenever you are symptomatic (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html) and to report immediately to your supervisor should you have a positive COVID-19 test result. Human Resources can supply you with COVID-19 self-test kits and you also can obtain free test kits in your home via postal mail from the federal government (see: https://www.covid.gov/tests). Supervisors will ask you to stay home for five days after a positive COVID-19 test and you should wear a well-fitted mask for an additional five days upon returning to work. You also are urged to seek medical assistance with your healthcare provider, whenever appropriate. In closing, COVID-19 remains a public health concern yet more is understood now about how to manage it better. PCCLD recommends consulting with your healthcare provider both about keeping your COVID-19 vaccination status up-to-date ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html) and about how to access improved treatments for infection (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/treatments), including the innovative “Test to Treat” program (https://aspr.hhs.gov/TestToTreat/Pages/default.aspx). PCCLD will continue to provide employees with face masks, which you are encouraged to wear as added protection, whenever appropriate (more information about masking is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/masks.html). Your supervisor has been looped-in about these changes, but do not hesitate to reach out to me directly or Human Resources with questions or comments. Jon Walker Executive Director
