I wanted to make everyone aware of some changes due to the upcoming ILS migration from Sirsi to Koha. We will begin work on the migration August 1st and the project will run through the end of December. At that time I will be working with Daniel and others to test our data, provide staff training, and ensure the new system will work with all of internal systems including Bibliotecha, RFID Solutions, EZProxy, and others. During this period, Elizabeth Flores will be filling my role in Technical Services. She will oversee Collection Development, Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Interlibrary Loan while I focus on the migration. She will also be taking on some projects such as Connect Ed, All Pueblo Reads companion books, and reintroducing OverDrive back to PCCLD in September. Elizabeth will be in Technical Services full time for these five months and any questions you have about these topics should be directed to her.
I will continue to provide managerial support to Circulation at this time alongside with Regina Renee. Any circulation questions should be directed to her.
Managers, please let me know when your August meetings are taking place so that either Joanna or I can attend to talk about the Koha project. We will need approximately 30 minutes to share the demo site, discuss the timeline and training strategy, and answer any questions your staff may have.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
