Wow! This summer has been amazing! I have had so much fun sharing summer with all of you, and I hope you've had a great time, too. This is my final summer highlights post - please share your own highlights. I want to hear them!
Books in the Park Sendoff Parties took place at Bessemer and Fairmount, where patrons enjoyed face painting, treats, a pinata, pizza and visiting animals from the Zoo and Raptor Center. Photos follow! Books in the Park had a great summer this year, with 7,450 books given away, 2,170 visitors, and 1,519 free lunches provided.
Teens enjoyed the End of Summer Party at Rawlings, with games, luau-themed activities and pizza. Pictures follow.
The Summer Works Writing Camp participants enjoyed their Publication Party, where each participant received a bound booklet of all the Summer Works stories.
90 people came to our School Readiness Storytime where they enjoyed fun games and activities to promote early literacy, and got free books and puppets to keep.
