Yesterday, the library trustees had a productive meeting. Here are the critical points I want to share:
1- PCCLD's buildings will remain closed to the public through April 19, 2020. Our new date for reopening the buildings to the public is Monday, April 20.
2- Administrative pay continues for regular part-time and full-time employees through April 19, 2020. Admin pay is based on standard weekly hours.
3- At this time we are considering service delivery opportunities while buildings remain closed. Some ideas shared with me recently include virtual storytime and other programming offered digitally. Are there ways we can bring the library to our patrons while they are at home? The leadership team is meeting virtually tomorrow to discuss preparations for ramping up virtual activities during the closure, reopening on April 20 and hosting future events and library programs later this year. This will be in addition to our current online offerings such as eBooks, eFilms, eAudiobooks, online research databases, etc.
4- Library buildings are closed right now. During this month of closure, we hope to provide a level of library services commensurate with our abilities working remotely and later onsite at our library locations when we reopen to the public. This means that as these plans come together, staff will be redeployed as needed. Please stand by for details. Instruction will come from your manager or an administrator.
Payroll Item:
HR is adding admin pay to time cards for all non-exempt employees for the current pay period. Nothing has to be done for exempt employees. Monday, March 30 is a standard payroll morning. Please take a minute to review your timecard in Paylocity before Monday, March 30.
