The Pueblo City-County Library District has been selected as one of 19 public libraries across the country to host the national traveling exhibition: Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? from the Smithsonian Institution and sponsored by the American Library Association. Through panels, interactive kiosks, hands-on displays and videos, Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? invites audiences to explore milestones in the evolutionary journey of becoming human — from walking upright, creating technology and eating new foods, to brain enlargement and the development of symbolic language and complex societies — advancements that define the unique position of humans in the history of life.
We will be installing the exhibit in the InfoZone next week and it will be up through April 23. If you have questions about the exhibit please contact Maria Tucker. A community committee has helped plan a diverse selection of programs that will be held throughout the month and Smithsonian scientists will be here on April 7 and 8. If you need more information about programs or the exhibit please visit www.pueblolibrary.org/infozoneevents. I hope that you will share information about the exhibit and programs with your friends and family.
