A group of PCCLD supporters enthusiastically applauded Pueblo City Council's unanimous support for a resolution in favor of continuing the Library mill levy at the City Council meeting on Monday night, August 12.
This resolution is attached here and declares, in part, "It is in the public interest to continue and renew the mill levy rate for the Library in order for it to carry out its mission to the benefit of the people of this community; and, therefore, citizens are urged to vote "Yes" on the Library referendum on November 5, 2019."
A sizable contingent of library supporters sat through nearly two hours of the City Council meeting prior to Council's vote in support of renewing the 0.6 Library mill levy that is scheduled to expire at the end of 2019.
Judy Weaver, representing the Pueblo Library Proud campaign committee, and Doreen Martinez, President of the Library Board of Trustees, addressed City Council about the importance of this election in November to sustain Library programs, services, and facilities.
PCCLD employees should feel well supported by City Council based upon the positive comments from City Council members about the Library prior to their vote in favor of the Library resolution.
