Good afternoon,
PCCLD has followed local, state, and federal health authorities' guidelines and rules throughout the pandemic. This is important today as the Pueblo Department of Public Health & Environment (PDPHE) announced that it is rescinding immediately all local COVID-19 health restrictions. This action lifts all locally-mandated COVID-19 requirements for organizations like PCCLD. The local order was removed to align Pueblo County with orders and guidance last week issued by both the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) last week that reduced COVID-19 restrictions.
PCCLD is responding to these with our own changes to library in-building restrictions. PCCLD's changes become effective Tuesday, May 18, 2021, with our move to Phase 6 of our reopening program. Phase 6 is fully represented beginning on page 37 of this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iIHhV-9YERIVSu-PvgDk3aoxkDcFEWdy1Pl-g7e0hBw/edit
Two major features of Phase 6 are (1) face masks now are encouraged inside libraries for both patrons and employees but no longer required in order to be admitted into local libraries and (2) building capacity limits have been lifted as well as time restrictions on individual's daily use of local libraries.
Moving forward, PCCLD will examine reinstituting onsite library programs and other such activities. So stay tuned.
Your supervisor is fully apprised of these changes and you are encouraged to check-in there with any questions.
Thank you for being flexible and responsive to this evolving situation.
Sincerely,
Jon
