Beginning April 7th, PCCLD will stop sending paper notifications to customers with the exception of Final Bill Notices. So hold notifications, failed call notifcations, and overdue notices will not be mailed. This is due in part to many notices being undeliverable to customers as well as using more efficient communication methods of phone and email. In 2014 we mailed 14,475 notifications to customers and 30% of those were undeliverable. Counting paper, staff time, and postage we spent more than $5000 on mail that did not reach its recipient.
So in an effort to be more efficient as well as environmentally friendly, we will be relying on our phone and email notifications systems. Community Relations has provided promotional materials to let customers know of this change, but it is important for our front line staff to let customers know as well. The announcement will be posted on our website soon too. Please direct any questions you may have to Jill Deulen x629!
