We are writing with an update on the PCCLD Executive Director hiring process. As you know, Bradbury, Miller & Associates is engaged by the PCCLD Board of Trustees to facilitate this. Bradbury, Miller & Associates was selected by the Trustees from a competitive pool of six firms that proposed to help the Trustees' ensure a fair and robust process to recruit, screen, and hire the new Executive Director. Bradbury, Miller & Associates’ background is in libraries and they work solely with libraries/library support institutions. A good number of staff took advantage of an earlier opportunity in June to provide feedback about the job to Bradbury, Miller, & Associates via a survey, and all staff should recall receiving notice in late June when Bradbury, Miller & Associates posted the job opportunity (see https://bradburymiller.com/job/pueblo/ for the job posting) and commenced recruiting. Bradbury, Miller & Associates is continuing to recruit now and will be accepting applications through August 7. They report healthy interest in the job. They aim to preserve confidentiality of applicants at this stage as is commonly done in hiring processes. Subsequent steps will include applicant screening and candidate interviews, and this will provide for opportunities for staff participation and input. Activity will noticeably ramp up in late August and September, and the Trustees remain on-track to hire an experienced, skilled, and qualified library leader to oversee our award-winning public library by the end of September.
