We now know a couple of reasons why people do not get their hold notices thanks to some great detective work by Abby, and your willingness to submit tickets about the problem.
Century Link customers tend not to receive the calls. Our logs showed we called, but they don't get the message. If they have century link you might suggest they sign up for Library Elf.
It was discovered that they won't get the message if they have their voice mail rings set to more than 6. We've set the automated system to ring 6 times, and hang up. So if they aren't getting the messages, ask them how many times they have it set to ring before going to voice mail.
