Mother's Day Tea Party

I just wanted to take a moment to celebrate others in this wonderful Library District.  First of all, Lorina decided to host a Mother's Day Tea Party here at Giodone, and put together a friends grant to make it happen.  She worked really hard to have a bunch of fun activities and crafts available, which we'd only be able to do because of the friends grant.  We also couldn't have done it without Janina providing over 50 tea cups and plates, and cute tea pots that really gave it a nice atmosphere.  Janina has supported many library tea parties and they've proven to be very popular!  Jackie Swanson, volunteered to make tea party hats for our guests.  These aren't your run of the mill party hats, each was unique and full of personality, and the guests lit up when I told them the beautiful pieces of art on the tables were hats to wear and take home.  I also have to thank Lori and Paula.  Lori stepped in at the last minute with her wonderful catering experience to get the tea ready just in the nick of time, and Paula kept the branch running for the rest of our guests even while the network was crashing.
