This morning I read a letter in The Pueblo Chieftain about positive interactions with staff at the Lucero Library. Congratulations to Diann and the entire Lucero team for the positive impact you are making and the services you are providing. As PCCLD employees we are making a difference in our community.
Letters: Library visit, Show love

On June 9, I was watching my 6-year-old niece and her 7-year-old friend trying to find something fun to do. We decided to go to the new East Side Lucero library. I have been trying to take the kids there every day.
The library team is unbelievable. The mutual respect between them and every person entering the building is so refreshing. You can tell Diann, Angelica, Cathy and Val love what they do.
Within minutes of walking in, they approach each and every child to find out what they need, what they are interested in and how their day is going.
Almost every day there is something fun and educational to do besides the summer reading program. Before we leave, they thank us for coming and ask if we will be back tomorrow.
We also met Pueblo Police officer Sherrie Taylor. She sat with the neighborhood kids. It was so fun for them to meet her and she took the time to really visit with them. Now, they look for her when we go — they see her as their friend.
If you are looking for something fun, educational and different every day, go to the Lucero library. You will get hooked on the positive energy and positive people. I am grateful our community has such a great place for our kids.
