Internships at PCCLD

Author: Sara.Rose / Date:
Internships provide a mutually beneficial opportunity for staff to work with and enrich the learning experience of students in our community. Outside of participating in a phone interview or meeting with a student to provide information for an assignment, PCCLD has a formal process for bringing in interns.  The process is coordinated through the Human Resources Office and resembles the hiring process in that interns complete an Application Form, a Criminal Background Authorization form and an Intern Agreement (provided by the educational institution).  HR also maintains statistics on internships which provide us with valuable insights.  Department managers can initiate the process of bringing in an intern by discussing the proposed project with the student and completing the internship forms.  Anyone who plans to work with an intern should read the attached Internship Guide which should also be shared with the intern once they are on board.  Please contact Human Resources to find out how we can help you utilize interns in your area.
