Hours of Service Committee

Author: jon.walker / Date:
What determines when your library is open for business?  If this is important to you, then please read on.

An ad hoc PCCLD committee of library employees will be appointed soon to review PCCLD hours of service throughout the district.  The goal is to ensure optimal access to library resources and services to members of our community in alignment with budgetary and other resource limits.  The group will review and make recommendations regarding the hours of service at the various PCCLD libraries.

If you are interested in serving on this committee please let me know y by February 2.  I expect to appoint members of the committee by mid-February.   The committee will consist of five-to-ten employees broadly representative of the institution.  The Hours of Service Committee likely will meet on average for a few hours approximately once per month over the course of about one year.  The committee will be charged with conducting research, reviewing, and making recommendations to the Executive Director with regard to libraries' hours of service.  I expect the team will publish progress reports periodically via the PCCLD intranet portal and their final report will be issued later in 2018 or 2019.

If you would like to serve as a member of this committee please email or otherwise contact me indicating your interest.
