Pueblo Rescue Mission, in Collaboration with the City of Pueblo, opened a Temporary Warming Shelter for the Homeless at 901 W. 9th Street. This is the same location of last year's warming shelter. The warming shelter will not provide daily services, but will be open when the temperatures fall below freezing. On the days it is open the hours of operation will be 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following morning. At this time the shelter has no cots or services, but provides a warm warehouse building where those experiencing homelessness can sleep. The shelter is accepting donations of blankets and sleeping bags. United Way of Pueblo County is working with Pueblo Rescue Mission and the City of Pueblo to determine areas of need to be addressed.
Please share this important information with any and all who may benefit from it.
Pueblo Rescue Mission will operate the permanent homeless shelter when it opens later this year/early 2020 on 4th Street.
