COVID-19 Update

Author: jon.walker / Date:
Dear All, The update from the State of Colorado today was both sobering and hopeful. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reports that spread of COVID-19 is spiking again in Colorado and it is doing so more among those who are under age 50.  COVID-19 hospitalizations are increasing among this younger demographic, too.  This means two things. One, vaccines are working effectively for the older population, who were prioritized for vaccination earlier.  Two, it is in your best interest to get vaccinated as soon as possible, if you have not been inoculated against COVID-19, yet. The vaccine helps a lot in keeping you healthy and out of the hospital. Please seek out a COVID-19 vaccine right away.  PCCLD encourages you to do so and allows employees two hours of paid leave to be away from work to receive your vaccine and, also, awards a wellness day when you show HR your vaccination card.   All Coloradans 16 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine, and all Coloradans 18 and older are eligible to receive the Moderna or Johnson&Johnson vaccine. VaccineFinder is a great website to help you find clinics, pharmacies, and other locations that offer COVID-19 vaccines: https://vaccinefinder.org/ Please vaccinate and, also, continue for now to wear a facemask and social distance. Jon
