Coronavirus Information

Author: terri.daly / Date:
We are closely following reports regarding the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19.) Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment are providing helpful information regarding this virus. The Colorado Public Health Department indicates that "there are no cases of the virus in Colorado and the risk of COVID-19 for Coloradans is low at this time." We also are in contact with the Pueblo Department of Public Health & Environment. To learn more, you can visit the CDC website here https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's website here  https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/2019-novel-coronavirus.
In addition, here is a link from ready.gov on how to prepare https://www.ready.gov/pandemic.

Public Health organizations always recommend everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, like COVID-19, including the following:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Our Facilities Team recently restocked hand sanitizer throughout the District.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
Even though the risk of contracting 2019 novel coronavirus is remote at this time, we want to take this opportunity to remind all employees to review PCCLD's Emergency Closings Policy, Policy 02.09.09. A copy of this policy is included as an attachment for your reference.

We are monitoring this situation closely and will keep you informed as we know more. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly should you have specific questions or concerns.
