Congratulations to Kayci Barnett!
She wins a free ticket to lunch in Loveland CO where PCCLD is to be awarded recognition as 2018 Colorado Library of the Year by the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL).
Kayci wins this reward for her submission about the impact of the modern public library:
"Today's public libraries are changing lives for the better because they're helping people make their dreams come true. As the Chinese proverb goes: 'You give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him to fish and you give him an occupation that will feed him for a lifetime.' By assisting people with improving their literacy skills, and giving them access to pursue their interests we're emboldening them to live the life of their dreams. That is what is unique about libraries, and why we are changing lives for the better."
It could not be said any better than this!
