Good morning from Summer Reading-land! As I watch our Summer Reading participation climb, I get VERY excited! This means we are getting the word out about how wonderful the library is, that we are motivating kids to read more, that we are providing fun and engaging activities, and so much more! Congrats to everyone! So - just a brief update of where we are at:
We currently have 6390 0-18 year olds registered.
We have passed up the 2013 total which was 5514 If you remember, 2012 was our incentive year - where YS staff all over the district really blew up the Summer Reading participation with the goal of winning Friends' money. That year we registered. Folks - not only are we really close to matching that number - but we are likely going to pass it up!
So, you probably think I'm going to challenge you to beat that goal, right? I am - but I'm going to challenge you even more. I firmly believe that there are over 7,000 kids that can participate in Summer Reading. That is the end of summer challenge - sign up 7,000 kids! Less than 700 kids to set a new record!
