All PCCLD library locations will be closed on Monday, October 12. Library staff are required to attend all-staff training and development programming on October 12. Terri Daly, Human Resources Director, is continuing to provide information to PCCLD employees on how this staff development day will proceed. The October 12, 2020, staff development day will occur virtually.
There may be some questions from the general public about whether or not PCCLD will be open on October 12. Some of these questions may emanate from the State of Colorado's changing to October 5 as a day of closure this year. PCCLD is open in 2020 on October 5, but closed on October 12.
The State of Colorado changed its holiday closure schedule beginning this year from the traditional Columbus Day in response to new state law in recognition of Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini. The State of Colorado has designated it as Cabrini Day.
