The first quarter of 2016 now is in the rearview mirror. We recently completed an internal assessment of the 2016 PCCLD Annual Plan to gauge early progress toward objectives set for the library district for this year. You will find the 2016 Annual Plan attached here. The library board of trustees recently reviewed the progress so far this year. I invite you to read it, too. Please keep in mind that the document was originally written and adopted in December 2015 and the 2016 first quarter updates are noted in the document in green ink.
I am pleased with good overall progress to date in 2016. Some have been competed already such as objective I listed on page 4 of the document. Many objectives are well underway. You will find this so throughout the document, but I point to IX on page 6, XI on page 7, XIII on page 8, and XVIII on page 10. There are a few that we have not started, yet—for example, objectives VI on page 5, XX on page 10, and XXIV on page 12—but keep in mind that the year only is 25 percent completed, so we have quite a bit of time to go. Overall, we are off to a very good start for what is turning out to be another busy and productive year for PCCLD.
This annual plan document and the work it records is the result of our collaboration and efforts as individual members of the PCCLD team. I am very proud of the work each of you perform each and every day to provide the best public library service possible for our community. I will continue to keep you apprised as the year progresses.
