Leadership in Action: The Leadership in Action Award recognizes employees who demonstrate leadership, regardless of title, through initiative, positive role model, supports others, encourages collaboration.

Everyday Hero: The Everyday Hero Award acknowledges employees who consistently do great work quietly or behind the scenes without seeking recognition. 

Above and Beyond: The Above and Beyond Award goes to celebrates employees whose actions go beyond the expectations of the job description to collaborate with co-workers, patrons, and help projects succeed.

Leadership in Action Award Criteria

Employees who demonstrate outstanding leadership through their actions, not just their roles. They consistently demonstrate initiative, integrity, accountability, and the ability to mobilize or motivate others. 

  1. Employee models PCCLD values, behaviors, and culture that inspire action or change, and a continuous positive working environment through fostering collaboration to make meaningful progress toward team or district goals. 

  2. Leads by example (not necessarily related to role) by demonstrating professionalism, accountability and integrity in day-to-day actions.

  3. Proactively identifies opportunities or challenges and takes action without waiting to be asked. Shows courage in addressing problems and proposing solutions.

  4. Encourages collaboration, trust and team or district development. Creates an environment where others feel valued and supported to contribute their best by listening actively and seeking differences in perspective. 

  5. Champions the district’s culture and long-term objectives; willing to accept change with flexibility. Maintains composure and motivation through challenges.

Everyday Hero Award Criteria

Employees whose steady presence, actions and unwavering commitment make a lasting impact.  Provides foundational support and a steady presence often without recognition, to support colleagues and uphold values. They represent humility, kindness and quiet strength. 

  1. Known for being dependable, responsible, and someone others can always count on.

  2. Uplifts others with kindness, support and encouragement. Builds trust and helps foster a healthy, respectful environment. 

  3. Demonstrates exceptional commitment to their work or role. Perseveres through challenges with quiet determination. 

  4. Makes behind-the-scenes contributions that improve the team or organization as a whole. 

  5. Actively supports and helps colleagues without being prompted.

Above and Beyond Award Criteria

Employees whose contributions go “above and beyond” what is expected and what is included in one's job description. They consistently exceed the expectations of their role, contributing time, energy and creativity to deliver exceptional results. 

  1. Routinely delivers work or service that not only includes, but exceeds their standard responsibilities. Demonstrates exceptional quality, efficiency or attention to detail. 

  2. Produces results that significantly benefit a team or the organization. Their efforts directly contribute to success, morale, or a positive work culture. 

  3. Willingly helps teammates by providing mentoring, coverage, and/or support, even when it requires extra time and effort. 

  4. Goes the extra mile during busy periods, emergencies, or unexpected challenges. 

  5. Serves as a role model for service, collaboration, and/or positive work culture.
